Georgette McAllister - Board Vice President

I am currently serving as the Vice President of the BCSS Board of Directors.  I earned a degree in BBA Accounting from Howard University and a degree in MBA Health Care Management from University of Phoenix. I am a proud member of Alpha Kappa Sorority, Inc., Alpha Chapter, providing “Service to all Mankind.”  I have spent my career working and volunteering with nonprofit organizations across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  Over the past 25 years, I have served as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Executive at Federally Qualified Health Center.  As part of the community effort to transform Reading Hospital Ancillary to a community health center, I assisted with the development of the financial management system, grant management, human resources, information technology structure and business operations.

I am a native of Philadelphia but reside in Sinking Spring with my two children, James and Georgia, and our three dogs.

I choose to volunteer for BCSS to assist with bringing awareness to African American Breast Cancer survivors of all the supportive services that are offered and to be able to offer culturally sensitive support services to African American Breast Cancer Survivors. Although I am not a breast cancer survivor, I have associates, family and friends that have been victimized by this disease, and stand up for them by volunteering.  It inspires me to be working with an amazing group of volunteers. Collaborating with others to achieve the mission of the organization brings me hope that one day all survivors will know we are here to service everyone with compassion, love, and understanding of each other’s needs.

Fun Facts:
  • If Georgette were a superhero, her powers would be compassion inducement - the ability to induce strong, empathetic passion within someone's heart.
  • The fictional place Georgette would most like to visit is Wakanda, the African Kingdom ruled by T’Challa in Marvel’s Black Panther. They are portrayed as a technologically advanced nation that even found a cure for cancer!
