Matthew Flannery - Board Member

I currently work for the Chester County Intermediate Unit as a Special Project Coordinator. In this role, I'm responsible for the coordination and completion of special projects with Chester County school districts and oversee all aspects of the Chester County Intermediate Unit administration on strategic initiatives at client school districts. Previously I worked for the Coatesville Area School District and the Wilson School District in cabinet level administrative positions. I received my Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership & Administration from Immaculata University.

I reside in Reading with my wife, Amy, and our six cats.

I chose to volunteer with BCSS because it is a great cause that focuses on helping people right here in our community. Being a board member allows me to learn about the services provided by BCSS and to learn about the heroic efforts of people who have battled or are currently battling breast cancer.

Fun Facts:
  • If Matt were a superhero, his powers would be the ability to fly. It's a great way to travel, no more fighting traffic, and see the earth from a different perspective.
  • The best piece of advice Matt's ever be given is from his dad. He's told Matt often that the score is never 100-0. In other words, it is very rare that one person is 100% correct and the other person is completely wrong. Listen to both sides of the story before making decisions.
