Nina Rowley - Board Member; Program Chairperson

I currently am an Organist at Alsace Lutheran Church, having worked there for 36 years! I received my B.S. in Music Education from Lebanon Valley College and retired from the Reading School District after 33 years as a Middle School and Junior High Music Educator. I'm also a lifetime member of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity.  Following my own breast cancer diagnosis, you may have seen me as a billboard and TV commercial spokesperson for Penn State St. Joseph Cancer Center.

I reside in Reading with my husband of 40 years, David. We also have two children and one granddaughter.

I chose to volunteer as a Board Member because I wanted to give back and share the support I received as a Breast Cancer Survivor. I am inspired by the women and men we serve in Berks County. I am inspired by the survivors and thrivers who go out of their way to give back in the midst of their own treatments and experiences. I enjoy being part of such a dynamic group and being of service.

Fun Facts:
  • Something people don't know about Nina is that she played the sousaphone in college. She also had to be careful she didn't fall over when she played it standing up!
  • The household chore Nina hates the most is tied between cleaning the bathroom and folding laundry.
